Relocating Water Treatment Pilot Plant — JTTF R&D II, Saudi Aramco
The R&D department at JTTF, Saudi Aramco, maintains an evaporation pond containing produced water requiring treatment. R&D intends to evaluate various treatment technologies by conducting pilot-scale testing using a dedicated pilot plant.
A pilot plant was designed, installed, and operated to enable comprehensive testing of multiple produced water treatment technologies. The pilot facility serves as a controlled platform for assessing the performance, reliability, operational requirements, and treatment efficiency of each technology under real field conditions. The outcomes of this pilot program will support the selection and optimization of the most suitable full-scale treatment solution for the evaporation pond water at JTTF.
FK & Partner Co. provided complete design, installation, commissioning, and startup for the entire relocated pilot plant.
Technologies were evaluated in three parallel streams: Constructed Wetland, Conventional Oily Wastewater, and RSL Membrane.
All results contribute to Saudi Aramco full-scale treatment selection.
| Equipment / Parameter | Application / Value |
|---|---|
| Nano Filtration | Sulfate removal |
| Constructed Wetland | Heavy metal removal |
