Expansion of the SCS scheme
Executive summary

A 2025–2028 expansion of the Ain Dar self-cleaning strainer scheme, adding an expanded six-train 50 µm configuration with microprocessor differential-pressure auto-backwash and SS-316 marine-grade construction for continuous high-volume seawater pre-filtration.

Building on the earlier SCS deployment, the expansion scales the 50-micron stage to six trains with the same SS-316 marine construction and microprocessor differential-pressure auto-backwash, sustaining cartridge-filter protection at full intake flow.

The challenge

Sustain and extend the cartridge-filter protection from the first deployment across a longer 2025–2028 term and higher train count.

Site & process constraints
  • Continue 92,000 m³/day pre-filtration
  • Expanded six-train 50 µm duty
  • Marine corrosion resistance
Engineering approach

A treatment train sequenced to the contaminants.

Automatic SCS 100 µm → Automatic SCS 50 µm (6-train) → Microprocessor DPS auto-backwash

The upgraded system keeps the 100-micron primary and expands the 50-micron secondary to six trains, with the microprocessor DPS controller and SS-316 sea-water-duty screens carried over from the proven design.

Proven design, scaled: reuses the validated V0 configuration rather than re-engineering from scratch.
