Khurais is located around 250 km southwest of Dhahran, with an area of 2,890 km2 . The Khurais development was the largest of several Saudi Aramco projects intended to boost the production capacity of Saudi Arabia’s oilfields.
During development and construction of this project, a concept was required. FK & Partner Co. with its partners (IE-Consult & H2O Tech) designed the plant as requested by client to remove sulphate with a capacity of 9,000 CMD treated effluent. To ease mobilization, the plant is designed to be portable.
IE-Consult provided the complete design for the plant and provided engineering solution and project management for installation and commissioning startup for the complete plant which was assigned to FK & Partner Co by the client of this project (Saudi Aramco) .
FK & Partner Co provided all the civil and mechanical work, Storage tanks for treated water and sludge, including drying beds for sludge dewatering are completing the treatment. The entire plant is operated by PLC and observed through an online monitoring system 24h x 7d. The Startup of this plant was in October 2016.
